'My work explores video as a medium for portraiture. It lies between fine art and documentary film, providing intriguing glimpses into the private worlds that people create for themselves. I don’t feel the need to over explain things in my films, the way I work is more about quietly entering someone’s personal space and revealing their identity through the subtle rituals and routines of their everyday lives. Rather than viewing them objectively, I prefer to collude with my subjects, focusing the camera’s attention where they focus theirs. Through filming I discover a little of the world through someone else’s eyes and hopefully reveal that world to others.'

‘Rich with significant detail, yet seemingly strung together incidental, casual scenes, a Parker-Rhodes short is the film equivalent of a punchy work of literary journalism, or a poetic Carver vingnette.’
